So we have been back in Tucson for a little over a year now. We came back to this pit of a place because my oldest daughter lives here and I missed quite a bit of her growing up while we lived in Virginia. Like ten years worth of growing up….
The engine rumbled under me as the air flowed around me like cool water. The scent of the forest tickled at the back of my nose as we rode down the road that stretched out before us like a long black ribbon. Looking over I smiled seeing your hair blowing backwards from your face as a look of enjoyment radiated from you.
So this last Saturday we went to a friend’s house and did a toga party. All and all it was a blast. Not too many people but just hanging around with friends, talking, listening to music and drinking was very therapeutic for me. Between the kamikazes, the watermelon soaked in raspberry vodka and the vodka Jell-O shooters (those things hurt going down!) everyone seemed to be feeling good. There was gratuitous nudity, skinny-dipping and general hijinx. We ended up getting home at almost four in the morning and did not sleep until almost six.
